Editorial and medical review policy
How an article goes from research to your screen, and what the review labels mean.
Sourcing
- Every health claim names its source. We prefer veterinary organizations, universities, veterinary manuals and peer-reviewed studies.
- Important figures are checked in at least two sources. When sources disagree, we say so.
- Forum posts, social media, brand blogs and sales pages are never used as evidence for a health claim.
Wording
- We separate what was measured from what it means for a dog.
- We do not promise cures, use fear to drive clicks, or invent urgency.
- We do not give doses, diagnoses or individual treatment advice.
Medical review
- An article may show “Veterinarian reviewed” only after a named, licensed veterinarian has read it and approved it, and the review date is shown.
- Until then it shows “Review pending” and is kept out of search indexes.
Updates and corrections
We change an article's “updated” date only when its content changes in a meaningful way. Corrections are noted on the article.
